A sequel to Lost in Finn Island, starring Pearl, Chloe, Jason, and Michael. Follow their adventure through happiness and sadness, drama and relief. A great feel and thrilling story.
“Chloe! I'm gonna need more feed for the birds.” Pearl shouted to her friend across the room.
“You're kidding.”
“No I'm serious, they've ended it all already.”
Chloe picked up a bag of feed from the floor and stumbled over to where Pearl was.
“Are you sure you aren't doing anything wrong?” Chloe asked, “I mean, we're still supposed to have way more feed than what is left.”
“All that the manager told me to do was keep their food supply up.”
It's been three years since the incident at Finn island, Pearl and Chloe are working at Finn Zoo in Finn Island. Jason and Michael have separate jobs in the mainland.
“Pearl, what have you been doing? It's almost time for the show!” Pearl's assistant Amber said as she rushed into the room.
“Really?” Pearl looked at her watch, “Oh my! Chloe, I have to go. See you later!”
“Wait, Pearl—” Chloe started, but Pearl had already rushed out of the room and was out of hearing. “What was that about?” Chloe asked Amber.
“She has a presentation.”
“Where?”
“Over in Sector B., they are showcasing some of the tricks they taught the dolphins,” Amber responded.
“The dolphins?” Chloe said, excited, “We have to go watch her!”
“You act like you haven't seen other people do this show a million times before.” Amber rolled her eyes, “What about all the work you have here?”
Chloe looked back at the papers she was supposed to work with, and then at Amber again.
“Work can wait,” she said.
The two made their way out of the employee area and into the public space. Meanwhile, Pearl was at the dolphin tank, entertaining kids and adults alike.
“We call this next one, 'The—” Pearl was interrupted by a loudspeaker from the ceiling.
“All animal care employees please report to Station D, I repeat, all animal care employees report to Station D,” The voice in the loudspeaker said.
'Wonder what that is about?' Pearl thought to herself. “Guess we'll have to cut the show short folks!” Pearl said, followed by a chorus of whines and moans.
When all the employees had been gathered, the boss started his speech.
“We have noticed a very fast decline of feed for the animals recently. I've talked to everyone else, but no one seems to know why,” the boss said, “I want to know what is happening.”
For a second no one spoke.
“Sir, I too have noticed the recent issues with the feed,” one of the employees finally said, “at first I thought the animals were just eating more, but my assistants and I believe more and more every day that someone is stealing the food from the storage.”
“Well, we had already made up our minds about that. If we don't have food to feed the animals, I'm afraid we won't be able to keep the park up either.”
There was another moment of science.
“Just remember; if the park goes down, you're going with it, so if any of you are stealing from the storage, it would be better for you to admit it now and stop it.”
“What makes you think we're stealing from the storage?” Chloe said, a bit annoyed.
“The only people who have the keys to the storage are the ones who use the feed.”
Later in the day, as the two roommates Pearl and Chloe prepared to go to bed, Pearl accidentally discovered a trapdoor under her bed. The girl's dorm room was located on the bottom floor, so the hole couldn't just lead to the roof of a room below them. Figuring it would be best to investigate in the morning,
Pearl went to bed, not even telling Chloe of her findings.
