It has been four months since Skylar saved Mckenzie from the SHAP. As she nears summer, she looks forward to having no school, no responsibilities, just fun in the sun. But that all changes on the last day of school, someone has put a 85 million dollar reward on Skylar and McKenzie. Dead or alive. Now it seems that everyone is after her and they have no choice but to go into hiding, in a little town called Someweare.
I can't believe I went this far, I should have told them who I was. Who I am, since the last day of school, nothing has been the same. Why couldn't I just do what I was told? Why couldn't I just stayed in my room all summer.
"McKayla!" I yelled. "McKayla where are you?!"
Was I too late?
"Mac!!!" I yelled. "Answer me!"
I leaned against a tree closed my eyes wiping away my tears.
"Mac!!!" I cried. "Mac please!"
I heard the sound of footsteps coming closer, I froze, petrified. What could I do? I was in the middle of nowhere and alone. I didn't use to be alone. I climbed the closest tree I saw and held on to it for dear life. I looked down and saw a dark figure walking towards the tree I was in. I held my breath, as I saw him look up and point his gun at me. I gasped in horror, I felt someone grab my shoulder, I screamed. It was another man, dressed in black, like a ninja in the night, his face was covered by a motorcycle helmet.
"Skylar Guitarrezz," The young man said, "I am ordered to bring you to Mr. X, dead or alive."
"Who are you?" I asked, almost in a whisper.
"Call me... Phantom."
