It has been four months since Skylar saved Mckenzie from the SHAP. As she nears summer, she looks forward to having no school, no responsibilities, just fun in the sun. But that all changes on the last day of school, someone has put a 85 million dollar reward on Skylar and McKenzie. Dead or alive. Now it seems that everyone is after her and they have no choice but to go into hiding, in a little town called Someweare.
I smiled as I finished the last page of my book, it was the last period, the last day of school. The next time I would be in school would be my senior year. I was excited, and also nervous. My senior year, I wouldn't go to Calhoun Memorial High any more. I was accepted in the Super Human Academy, like McKenzie. I closed my book and smiled as I took one last look at my classmates, we had thirty minutes of class left. I couldn't wait to see McKenzie, we had plans to have lunch together.
"Skylar? You're wanted in the office, and take your things."
"Thank you Mr. Gibson."
I gathered my things and left my history class. I opened my locker started emptying it, when I was done I made my way to the office.
"Ms. N. I was told to go to the office."
"Yes, you can go home."
"Really?" I asked.
The secretary nodded.
"Yes."
I smiled. "Sweet."
I excitedly walked to the parking lot to go to my car. It was in the back, I happily ran to the back of the parking lot and ran into someone.
"Oh sorry!" I stopped, I recognized him. "Director? Director Scoggins? What are you doing here?"
"I'm relocating you Skylar." He replied. "You're not safe here, I can't explain right now I will later, but right now we need to put you in a secure location."
"What's going on?" I asked. "Should I be worried?"
He sighed. "I'll explain later."
I nodded, and followed him out of the parking lot. I looked around for my car. I followed the Director to an SUV, he opened the door for me. And the next thing I knew we were driving out of school. He knew I was confused, and I knew something was wrong. But what was it?
"Director where are we going?" I asked.
He sighed, as he glanced in the backseat. I caught his gaze and looked at the seat next to me. It was my suitcase, I was supposed to go to church camp tomorrow.
"The FBI is taking you into hiding Skylar, we received a tip from the librarian. The man that McKenzie's father shot wasn't the leader of the SHAP. He was an employee like her."
"What?" I asked. "Then who was in charge?!" I asked.
"There is more," He replied as he stared at the road. "You made him really mad Skylar, he placed a contract on you, dead or alive for eighty-five million dollars."
I felt the oxygen leave my body.
"And you didn't take down the only SHAP, there's apparently hundreds all across the states, you just took down one. And the most important thing?"
He sighed, he was stressed. "The leader is a super human; and his power is stealing powers."
