Kayla is a nameless orphan, who is being ill-treated by her foster family. She runs away, only to fall in the hands of other foster families, who treat her worse than ever. Kayla soon discovers she has a half-older sister, who betrayed her, but lived a life of misery. Kayla can't do anything but save Karen, or worse, become a slave.
"So, where do we drive to?" I asked.
"To my house," said Sophia at once. "You can drop me off at my aunt's,"
"But where will I stay?"
"At my house, if you like,"
"Thanks, but I need to get to some nice foster family,"
The main reason was, I did want to live with Sophia, but it could put her in danger, as just the day before, I had seen this in the newspaper:
'11-year-old Kayla has been reported missing by the Bitermanns Family, who live close to Raleigh. "She ran away," said Mrs.Bitermann. "We are ever so worried about her," "Why did she run away?" asked a police officer. "Well, mainly because we grounded her of doing something wrong," said (should've been lied to) Mr.Bitermann. "Oh! I miss my sister so much!" Nora, their little (LITTLE?!) daughter cried. "She has brown hair and green eyes, wearing a brown coat and perhaps black leggings. She may also be wearing a pink fluffy coat or a yellow one," The Bitermanns described.'
LIES!! ALL LIES!! I had been angered when that was posted because none of that was TRUE!!! LIARS!!
And I'm pretty sure the police are looking for me now.
If I live at Sophia's, then it would put Sophia and her aunt in danger, as they might be suspected for kidnapping.
I reasoned with Sophia about this.
Then we drove to her house, which was by a train track next to the river.
"Bye Sophia," I called out sadly. "Bye Kayla, we'll meet again," she said and ran up the doorstep.
I drove away (having learned how to from Sophia) and waited for my next adventure.
