Kayla is a nameless orphan, who is being ill-treated by her foster family. She runs away, only to fall in the hands of other foster families, who treat her worse than ever. Kayla soon discovers she has a half-older sister, who betrayed her, but lived a life of misery. Kayla can't do anything but save Karen, or worse, become a slave.
I woke up with a start to raindrops pattering down on our shelter. And then realized something was going on as I could hear screaming as well.
"HELP!!!" Someone screamed. It was Serena!
"SERENA!" I shouted into the dark. "SERENA!!"
Soon, I heard Sally's and Kelly's voices too.
"SALLY! KELLY! OOF! Who-"
Someone had fallen on me. It was Sally. She looked frightened. Really frightened.
"Kayla, Serena is gone! Ms.Vicky found us somehow!"
We got up and saw some red rear lights in the distance, speeding off.
"AFTER THEM!" I shouted.
We threw the blankets into the golf cart and sped after them. I drove as fast as I could, following the red rear lights, but it disappeared. No!
Crash.
"What was that?" Kelly, who was dazed, asked.
I turned on the headlights. We had just hit a tree. NO.
"We hit a tree!"
"This is not gonna end well," I heard Sally whisper. The tree looked kind of weak.
Uh oh.
At the last moment, I spun the steering wheel and the tires screeched, just as the tree came crashing down to our side.
"Are you guys okay?"
"Yeah-"
"Kelly okay,"
I sighed. Serena was kidnapped again. Now it's time for another ride to the orphanage. GREAT. JUST GREAT.
