Kayla is a nameless orphan, who is being ill-treated by her foster family. She runs away, only to fall in the hands of other foster families, who treat her worse than ever. Kayla soon discovers she has a half-older sister, who betrayed her, but lived a life of misery. Kayla can't do anything but save Karen, or worse, become a slave.
We reached the edge of the forest. "Time for camping, sisters!" Serena said and brought out some blankets and food.
"Let's make a shelter, in case it rains. I mean, it's winter,"
We made a shelter using sticks and leaves.
"Yay, we did it!" Kelly cried.
We had some dinner and were about to go to bed, but I remembered the papers.
"The papers!" I whispered to the others and brought them out. They were damp for some reason, but at least we can still read it.
I read it out aloud. Here's what it said:
'Certificate of Adoption
Karen Johnson was adopted by Ms.Vicky Brown on November 14, 2016.
Cause: "She went to college, where her parents abandoned her and also abandoned their other daughter," said Ms.Vicky.
Parents: Unknown
Siblings: Kayla Johnson
Kayla Johnson was adopted by the Bitermanns Family, Mr.Oliver Bitermann and Mrs.Kate Bitermann. They have a daughter named Nora.
Cause: Kayla's parents abandoned her on December 4, 2016, while she was still 7 years old. The child is unknown where she lives now as the Bitermanns have moved house and no one knows where they live at the moment."
WHAT???!!! SO THAT KAREN GIRL WAS MY SISTER?! AND I'M JOHNSON?! AND MS.VICKY IS A PART OF THIS?! So she knows! She knows me! She needs me at her orphanage!
No- this is unbelievable.
The others gasped. We stared at each other for a few minutes.
"I think we should go to bed and talk about this in the morning," said Serena.
We nodded and silently went to bed.
