Chapter 17 of 30 - In town

"Please help me!" I cried. I knew I couldn't stay here forever, so I let go. I thought I'd see black.  "I love you, Kayla," a soft voice whispered.  I woke up with a start. Who? Wait.. where was-? "Kayla!" It was Serena's voice. And Sally's. Fortunately, Serena had saved Sally and found the golf cart.  I had fallen on top of the golf cart! We were reunited!  I was so happy.  "Come on, we need to resume our search for Kelly," I said and sat in the golf cart. First we had some food and water and took a rest. Then we drove through the forest, where I had first encountered Ms.Vicky. I reminded the other two about Ms.Vicky being around, so we drove quietly.  "Maybe the town is near," Sally piped up. "We could go there, but you saw what's on the news," Serena reasoned.  I frowned. "What's on the news?"  Serena handed me a paper. The newspaper, obviously.  It said,  "The Bitermanns are missing their daughter a lot. Kayla Bitermann has been claimed to be sighted somewhere around The Willow River. Little Nora would like to say something to her sister, (if she's reading this): "I-I miss you, sis. We've been miserable without you, please come back. I had drawn a picture for you, it was a picture of us both. My drawings aren't nice, but I know you liked them. Please come back," Anyone who sees Kayla, call: 972913319 immediately, thanks,"  We all burst out laughing.  Haha, Nora never DREW. NEVER. She was lying, surely.  We decided to go into town, but be very careful.  We entered town. It was a huge place, we were bound to get sighted, but there were so many people. "I'm hungry," Sally grumbled.  "Me too," Serena wailed. I was hungry too. But we hadn't brought our food with us, so that meant we had to go into a shop or something. "Let's steal!" I said. "Okay, Kayla, go that way into that sweet shop and Sally and I that way into the restaurant," We agreed to this plan. I slowly crept up the steps into the sweet shop. The owner started giving me suspicious looks. I quickly hid behind the counter. Maybe I should go up the roof? No, I should go up the side of the roof! And then I can get in through the back door and steal some sweets. The plan seemed so simple, so good. It had to work, but unfortunately it didn't.  I slowly walked out.  Then I began climbing the pipes. It wasn't hard. "Kayla...I love you.."  I heard a voice. I almost fell off. Who was that??? It was probably my imagination. Yes, my imagination.  And if I didn't concentrate, I would fall off.  I held on tightly. The ivy began to break. Oh no. Suddenly, I felt a strong grip on my arm.  I turned back. It was Ms.Vicky.
