Chapter 16 of 30 - Holding for dear life

We didn't know anywhere else to find poor Kelly. "What do you think happened to her after we threw her in?" Serena asked. "I don't know, she probably survived or got out of the river somehow," I said. "Look!" Sally cried, suddenly. There were a few tiny footprints to where we were walking to. "They might be Kelly's!" I said. Everyone was thinking the same. We followed the trail slowly. It stopped at a dead end. "Um, you don't think Kelly FELL OFF the cliff, do you?" Sally asked, nervously. "Er-I don't think," I said, looking around for more footprints. "She might've fallen in and swept away or something," Serena suggested. We searched around for a long time. It was 3 pm now. "D'you think we should take a break?" Serena asked. "I'm getting tired," "Maybe just one more round around the rocks and then we'll sit down somewhere," I said. "Sally, you go that way and Kayla, you go that way," Serena directed us. "Okay," we said in unison and quickly scuttled off. I was still walking when I realized I was lost. I had no idea where I was, because it was just grass, stones and trees everywhere. I saw the river below me. It was then only I realized I was on a train track. Fearfully, I looked around, hoping a train wouldn't come my way. But unfortunately, there WAS a train on the way. I heard its wails and groans (train noises). I quickly tried to get off the track, but I was on a bridge. Either I had to jump and drown, or um-the train. The train was very close now. I shrieked and jumped. But that was a mistake. The river was below me, rushing rapidly. The train was above me, groaning and whistling across the track. I was hanging on tightly. I couldn't fall, no. That wasn't a good option. "HELP!" I cried, hoping someone would hear me. "HELP!!!" I cried louder. "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP!!!!" THE longest "help" I ever muttered in my life. Um, well, screamed, or shrieked, or cried, or shouted. "HELP! PLEASE!
