Chapter 2 of 8 - Best Friend's Boyfriend

My mom gently nudge me on the shoulder. "Hey... did you hear that M has a boy friend?" I leaned back sitting in the couch. "Who?" "Will." I almost spit out my water. "Will? Like.... Will... H?" "Yeah... didn't you know?" I opened my Instagram. "We don't have any classes this year so... no." M was dating WILL. Will H. The new student, me and M went to church with Will. I had P.E. and algebra with him. At first, I was happy and excited that he was new. That was until I realized he hung out with the wrong crowd, hanging with the class perverts, cussing me and my friends out. Throwing rocks at us like we were in the third grade while we walked a super loop. Yes. I was surprised that she was dating him. Wouldn't you? The next day I sat in the bleachers of the gym, talking to my friends, Liz and Sam. The coach walked in and told us to walk around three schools campuses, otherwise called, the super loop. "Don't you ever shut up?" Liz asked. "Not to you bitch." He said as he flipped us off. "Are you calling us both that? Or just her?" I managed to say. "Both." He turned around and continued the loop. I couldn't believe it. My best friends boyfriend basically cussed me out and flipped me off. I wanted to tell M. But how? I didn't want to be the reason they broke up, and I didn't want to seem like a tattler. "Hey Abs." "What do you want?" I snapped as we almost finished the loop. "And don't call me that, only my friends call me that." He rolled his eyes. "Someone's on their period." Liz took three steps toward him, determined to get some satisfaction from him. I quickly pulled her back, saying to her. "He's not worth beating." He chuckled. "Please, you couldn't hit me if you wanted to." I chuckled at that. Liz was five foot two, but still had the attitude and sarcasm to drive Will up the wall. "Yeah whatever." "Do you want to know something... Abigail?" I rolled my eyes, letting go of Liz. She was right behind me, ready to pounce. "Me and M are dating." He said proud. "But not in a bed of course." I stared at the ground, feeling myself beginning to cry. I held it in as much as I could. I told my mom what happened, she was mad and disappointed. She said I should told M what happened. "If you don't want to explain what he did to you," She said as she pulled out of the school. "Explain what he said about her. She deserves to know what he says about her behind her back." In youth group I pulled her aside and had the conversation in the bathroom. "I think you should know what Will said about you in P.E." I said softly. "Okay." She said concerned. "What?" "He said you were making out... but not in a bed." She looked at the ground, then at the bathroom mirror. "Okay." She said softly. "Thank you for telling me. I appreciate it." I nodded and watched leave the restroom. If only I could tell her.
