Lucy POV
This morning I woke up, feeling low.
Yes, you heard it right.
I left my family stuck with a ghost and gone to sleep.
I'm not proud of doing that.
No.
I sobbed.
Then I thought of my family, out there, lives in danger.
Who KNOWS what Ella might do to them!
I know the diary was fake.
I just figured it out!
Ella had planned it all.
But I couldn't do anything.
Not even go to the priest.
He wouldn't be any help.
I sobbed even more.
Suddenly, my brain came alive.
I began to think out plans on how to save my family.
I HAD to save them.
They were my family!
Families stick together!
And help each other!
I grabbed a rope from Jade's dresser and ran to the dumbwaiter hallow.
I swung the rope onto the hook like thing on top.
Jade was good at this.
I wasn't sure if I could do it.
But then again, I had to.
I tied part of the rope around my waist and began going up the dumbwaiter.
Of course, I didn't use the dumbwaiter.
There would be too much groaning and creaking.
And then Ella would come.
Do ghosts sense things before they happen? I thought.
Or are they like humans, sense things when it's happening?
Whatever!
It was time for action.
I got up to th e at tic bravely, but frightened walked up to one of the walls where I had heard the screaming.
It was silent now.
Oh no.
I hope Jade and mom and dad were still alive.
Or maybe they got moved somewhere else?
No, no, no.
I just had to find them, rescue them.
I had to do this.
NO MATTER WHAT.
Suddenly, I heard a creak.
I picked up a stick nearby.
"Ella!?" I shouted. "If you're in here, I just want to say that you'll lose..."
All of a mite, something grabbed me from behind.
Ella.
"Ella, you witch!"
I swung the stick around, but the grip was tight.
I felt I was going to be squeezed.
What do ghosts even do with dead bodies?
NO.
I wasn't going to think of all this.
I kept swinging the stick around. And around.
Suddenly, I hit something.
A hardwood floor.
A rope swung around me and I was tied up.
OUCH!
