The power flickered out. Bree called the power department, and they came right away. Bree told me to go to my room and pack, so we could leave the house. I went to my bedroom and grabbed my suitcase. I packed all my clothes in there, and some pillows and blankets. In my backpack, I dumped all my school supplies to the floor and put in my phone, and the earrings mom gave me. I zipped my bags up and headed to the kitchen.
I climbed over a thin part of the tree that was seperating me from Bree and saw her jamming tons of snacks and water bottles into a grocery bag.
I opened the cupboard and pulled out some apples, put them in plastic bags, and crammed them in my backpack.
I also managed to jam in some extra water bottles.
Bree got Daisy's things and we headed to the car, but the tree had smashed it to pieces. Bree sighed
Where are we going to find a car-or someone to come get us? People don't allow giant dogs in the car..." "Why don't we got to Aunt Mary's?" I asked.
"Aunt Mary...that's a good idea Maddie... she lives 10 minutes away...'bout a 20 minute walk..."
We started walking. And walking and walking and walking.
Finally, we got to Aunt Mary's.
We rang the doorbell. The door creaked open.
Aunt Mary gasped. "You can't be here."
