A family of three moves to an old average looking house but due to a childish accident, strange things or more like....scary things, start happening. Will this story have a happy ending? Even I myself don't know yet.......
Just three days after Emma was born at the house of Mr and Mrs. Alby, Mr. Alby died in a road accident. A truck driver ran over him when he was heading home from work.
Mrs. Alby was left in despair and confusion. Emma, whose birth was supposed to be celebrated heartedly by her parents as she was their one and only child, lost her father before she could even remember his face.
Mrs. Alby wasn't strong enough, and didn't pull through. And she too left Emma a few days later.
Emma wasn't even one year old at the time. The news spread far and wide of the death of Albys in the whole little town.
Some cold hearted people blamed young Emma for her parents death and said that she was bad luck. Nobody knew what to do with that little girl who didn't know what lie ahead of her in the life.
A neighbor took her in for a few days and at the fourth day, an old sullen looking couple, the Blythes, who didn't look like they could handle children, came and took Emma with them.
The only reason they took in Emma was because they didn't had any children of their own which they were glad about but since Mrs. Blythe was getting old, they needed someone to take care of the house. Mr. Blythe having a really small heart, refused to pay even a penny to any housemaid. So, Mrs. Blythe decided to bring up Emma and wanted to train her how to do house chores.
But unfortunately, the day they brought in Emma, not-so-lucky things started happening. Someday, Mr. Blythe would break his leg or Mrs. Blythe once slipped in the kitchen, ending up with a serious damage in her left shoulder.
Emma was growing up and unfortunate incidents kept happening and eventually, Mr and Mrs. Blythe decided that Emma was nothing but bad luck.
They tried to get rid of her when she wasn't so old but they couldn't and once Emma grew up, they left any hope of getting rid of her as she was no longer an attractive teddy bear who people will love and hug.
Her life was horrible. Mrs. Blythe was really cruel to her and made her learn how to do the things little girls normally don't know how to. When other little children went to school, she worked in the house, shouted at by Mr. Blythe, bossed around by Mrs. Blythe and so on.
All she wanted, was to have just a soul to play with but that was impossible in the circumstances she was living. She did had something that reminded her of her mother and that was her little silver ring with a beautiful, delicate amethyst stone. She never took the ring of her finger.
One day, when Emma turned twelve, and both of the Blythes have grown quite old at the time and weren't as sharp as they used to be. They have started making hasty decisions without giving them a thought.
That day, Mr. Blythe got fired from the only job he had, the old man was depressed and when at home he saw Emma looking 'happy' on her birthday, he completely lost it and went to his wife. They both decided to end the girl's life.
And they did.
They hanged her in their very own house in the middle of the night and when it dawned upon them that they have committed a murder, they both killed themselves as well.
In the morning, when people found out three dead bodies, they thought maybe someone came and killed the whole family. They did investigations but all in vain and in the end, they buried all three of them in the backyard of their house. And beside the grave of Emma, they made a little ring holder and put up her mother's ring in that which they had found slipping out of her dead finger.
To be continued...
(An early author's note: I got the idea of the story a few months ago at night by seeing a light bulb blink. I stopped working on this but have started writing it again. I am not sure if I will be able to complete this story, but I will try my best. Thank you for reading! More is hopefully coming soon and of course, feel free to give any suggestions you have! Have a great day/night! :))
