This is the story of a girl named Ember, who doesn't have a very good relationship with her parents. She feels like nobody wants her anymore. Can she beat the sadness and be happy again, or will the fire burn out making her just an ember flickering in the darkness?
Today is Monday so I have PE first period. It's week A, my least favorite week. It used to be my favorite because it only has one PE lesson all week but now I prefer week B because there is more telling off, like in maths with the meanest teacher, Mr Stews. I find it funny when I get a redboard because I feel like a rebel. Of course my parents aren't too happy when I get told off, but it's not like its going to affect my life when I get a redboard. My friend Bria only got one redboard in the whole of year seven. For me that would be impossible.
I get to the bus stop then make sure I have my bus pass in my blazer pocket. When the bus arrives everyone flocks to the door to get the furthest to the back as possible. I don't get why that's a thing, but anyway I finally step onto the bus and scan the rows for an empty seat. There's no double seats that are empty so I have to sit next to Ollie, who only ever seems to be playing Minecraft.
We arrive at school and I see Bria with our other friends Daria, Mai and Talia. Mai waves and I race over.
"Hey guys!" I say, out of breath.
"Hi Ember. You good?"
"Yeah I'm fine, shall we go to tutor Bria?"
"Sure, bye Mai and Talia" She shouts as we leave for the History block.
First and second period go by really fast. Which is good, because I'm having pasta for lunch, my favorite. Then I have maths with Mr Stews. I don't think I've had a maths lesson with him where I haven't got a redboard.
"Ember, try not to get sent to RTL today, yeah!" Bria calls as she goes to her maths class.
"Yeah yeah." I joke.
