When you're a twin, people seem to thing you and your twin are very similar. Not in Goldy and Silver's case! These two twins couldn't be more different. However, as they transition into high school, the siblings must find a way to balance each other out. If not, it could send the whole school crashing down...
Silver and Goldy began getting a bit irritated at how stereotyped they were by their peers. It wasn't just their peers, though; a few of the teachers expected them to be the same as well. Example? Silver was pretty much a straight-A+ student (He had the highest GPA for his class the year this story takes place). Goldy was pretty successful in school as well, but usually got B's, a couple C's, and rarely an A. Sometimes the teachers would keep the twins after class and say, "Goldy, how do you not get straight- A's like Silver? You guys are twins." Yes, they actually said stuff like that. This not only made the twins feel pressured into a stereotypical twin-life, but overall very uncomfortable. Of course, not everyone tried to make them feel like they had to be the same person: Star, Layla, Allister, and Ivory enjoyed how the twins were different. "We get more variety when you guys are around, and its cool to see how you express yourselves in your own ways!" they would say. That always kept the twins feeling good about their very contrasted personalities. Even so, they still wanted to let people know that they were different people, so they announced it during break period. That plan backfired BIG TIME.
"Hey guys? Can we talk?" Goldy and Silver asked some of their classmates. It was 1 PM that school day, during the break period that was used for in-school detentions and socializing time. All the student gathered around to hear what the twins had to say. "So, everyone here knows how we're twins, right?" Goldy started. Their peers murmured and nodded. "... recently, we've been feeling pressured by a lot of you to be, basically, the same person. We know not all of you do it, but we overall feel uncomfortable about being the same." Some of the students seemed a bit shocked at Silver's statement. "What do you mean by that?" a girl in the back piped up. "A lot of you guys seem to think we have the same hobbies, the same friends, and same choices in many other things. We personally don't like it, and ask kindly to just... let us be who we are," the twins explained. There was a moment of silence before a confused jock said, "But, you guys are twins. Aren't all twins alike?" Silver held back a frustrated groan. "Nope, not all twins are super similar. Sure, some are, but others, like us, are different and balance each other out," he said. He and Goldy went on to explain every way they were different, the pressure they felt from their peers, everything. By the time they had finished, it seemed everyone had understood that the twins were different. Some even apologized for misjudging them! Goldy and Silver were pretty satisfied, so they began expressing themselves in different ways even more.
Big mistake, guys...
