Brook Savage lives in a house by the woods, which Brook calls "Autumn Street". Brook goes into the woods to play every day with her animal friends. But one day a building company comes in and tries to build on the land... What will Brook do?!
Autumn.
I love watching the bright, colorful leaves fall from the trees. They delicately fall lightly, without warning. First they go straight, then she swift back and forth, as if their finding the perfect spot to land. When they land, I focus on them, their beautiful texture and color. Red, Orange, Yellow, a Tanish, they are all beautiful, yet all different.
I bunch them up, and take them through the forest, whispering secrets. Even though they aren't human beings, I can tell they hear me. When they're happy, they dance with the wind, as to say, "That is awesome. I love to hear your secrets.". When they must leave, the wind picks them up like a mother, and sends them back down to the ground. It is time for rest.
The leaves are like my friends, and if I lean in closely, I can hear them laughing and whispering to me. Their voice smells like fall.
A few leaves don't want to go home, so they walk freely with me, listening carefully as I talk. They are small, yet they have colorful and beautiful ears, even though you can't see them. They are the like the sister or brother you've always wished to have.
Every now and then, they go to listen to other animals stories. I don't mind. I'm not jealous. yet by the look on sme animals faces, they are.
I look up at the leaves on the trees. They are like new neighbors that I haven't met yet. I cannot wait, but I will let them take their time to fall and settle in. I don't want to make them feel nervous.
That is what I love about Autumn.
