Brook Savage lives in a house by the woods, which Brook calls "Autumn Street". Brook goes into the woods to play every day with her animal friends. But one day a building company comes in and tries to build on the land... What will Brook do?!
My favorite animal is a bird.
I love it when they soar up in the sky, having a dance party with the clouds, flapping their wings, and then gliding down.
Of course, I am a fan of many other animals too. But the Birds are my personal favorite. I love it when they swoop down on my shoulder. I love it when they tweet, tweet their happy little song. I love all the different types and colors of different birds, their personality.
When I was little, I always dreamed on having a pet bird. It would sing to me in its little cage. Tweet, tweet! It would sing. Every holiday I would ask Dad for a bird. But he always said no.
Eventually, a few months before we moved here, I realized getting a bird wasn't such a good idea. I realized that if I had a bird, it would be trapped in its cage, and not be able to roam free in the wild.
When I moved here to the woods, I was so excited, because I could see all kinds of birds out into the wild. Sometimes, if I stayed up late enough, even owls!
But it was only the year I turned 8 when I met Twig.
