Chapter 11 of 12 - Drink or Two? - Robin

Once night started to fall, Robin and Dr. Drake had made it to a local bar. Robin had been to a bar many times before she started her job. "So, Robin, how are you feeling" Dr. Drake asked, paying the bartender as they took their drinks. "Nothing too bad, just a little sore. I mean I'm moving after a while" Robin answered, taking a sip. "Oh, and by the way, what really is your name" Robin asked, sitting down at a table. "Ayden, Ayden Drake" Dr. Drake said, smiling a little. "Oh, I was expecting something like Hugo, because you are so well, forget it" Robin said. Dr. Drake, looked out the window. "Well, this is a date, so what are somethings you like?". Robin looked out the window too, "Well, mainly I focus on my cases but I do like Pizza". Dr. Drake chuckled, "Doesn't everybody!". Robin nodded, smoothing out her dress "Yeah, I guess, so, Ayden, what about you". "Well, I like Basketball, played it during highschool. Wasn't the captain or anything like that" Ayden replied. "Oh, I was the captain of my tea back in the day, Daphne doesn't like when I say that, Back in the day" Robin said. "You played?" Ayden asked, smiling. "Yeah, but we were the losing team" Robin said, "Those were great times". Ayden looked at Robin, "You know, I've never had social interaction with anyone other than my patients". "Yeah, the only real connections I truly make are when I talk with my team or with Daphne, I used to talk with Dad. He was the best" Robin said. "What happened to him, you don't have to answer, though" Ayden asked. "He died, it's my Homicide I've taken in" Robin stated. "Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that" Ayden replied. "You know, being black when I was growing up was bittersweet, I loved it honestly, It gave me Michael Jordan vibes. But the racism.." Ayden replied. Robin looked at him, "You know, I get it. Michelle Laurie, my teammate told me her experiences. It was horrible picturing it". "Well, never mind that. Anyway, I have this customer or well patient who has this really crazy hair. It would hang from all sides, like Medusa kind of" Ayden said, turning his phone on. "He asked me for a photo" He said, showing Robin. Robin covered her mouth to prevent laughing. It was pretty funny. Robin couldn't hold it, she laughed. Ayden looked up at her and said "I've surprisingly never heard you laugh before". Robin stopped, "Oh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, I have a really awkward laugh" Robin said. "No, I think it's normal" Ayden said. "Yeah, I know it's weird" Robin replied. "Oh, shoot! I have to go. How bout we do this next Sunday? I'd love to see you there" Ayden said. "Oh, okay, at least you can get me out" Robin said. "Oh, right" Ayden said, taking her to his car. "Sorry, forgot". "No no, it's okay, never wanted to be in a wheelchair did I" She said. Before Ayden drove her home, he said "You know that being a therapist is only my job for a little bit". "Wait, why!" Robin said. "I'm part of the armed forces" Ayden said. "Oh, well, are you leaving?" Robin asked. "Yeah, next month. All I wanted to do was take you out of that cooped hospital before anything" He said. "Awe, I thought that..." Robin stopped. "Well, it's okay, not like I'm gonna miss you or something!" Robin said. "Oh, I know you will" Ayden said. Once he dropped Robin off, he said "Well, next week". "Next week" Robin completed. Daphne opened the door, "Ooh, Robin has a lover!" She said. "He is not, He's just my-" Robin got cut off. "Boyfriend" Daphne completed. Robin went red, "Maybe".
