Once upon a time in a land far, far away, there lived two little girls named Kin-iro and Ishi. Those words in Japanese meant gold and stone. (Kin-iro means gold and Ishi means stone.) Even though they lived before the Japanese were born, they were happy to be sisters and playing together. You might ask how Japanese was a baby, well this world is nothing like earth. This place gives life to objects and words with no life or great purpose. This place is known as Hawaii for most humans but the people who live here call this place Miranium. Miranians are very different. They can speak English; it is just that they look different.
Kin-iro and Ishi were most different. Ishi had a necklace with a tiny ying-yang made from silver, and Kin-iro had a necklace that was carved into a tiny dragon made from gold. Those necklaces gave them the power to bend. As they grew, a lady named Grace wanted those powers! So, when she figured what the necklaces could do, she started coming up with a plan to kidnap the girls and snatch their powers.
Grace was from Australia, and Australian people were not allowed into the planet Miranium. So, she traveled to Miranium and snuck in looking like Miranian with her disguise. She walked up to the palace, not knowing that there were security cameras. These security cameras only allow royalty to cross. Humans like to call Miranium, Mars. When Grace walked in, she said "Hello fellow Hawaiia- I mean Miranians! I would like to speak with your rulers Kin-iro and Ishi, please!"
"You may not earthling! We shall protect the queens!" one guard said in a booming voice. "How did you- I mean, what do you mean, I'm a Miranian just like you!" The space-palace opened and Kin-iro and Ishi were standing right in front of her. They wore beautiful gowns and stunning accessories that match with their long silky hair. "Your majesty, this earthling would like to speak with you." The guards said while making way for royalty.
"Ooh! A guest! It has been millennia since we've had one!" said Kin- iro excitedly, as Ishi had her suspicions about Grace. "I don't trust her, she looks very dull and fleshy, what is your name?" said Ishi in a shy timid voice. "Come on, you're the reason we don't have any guests Ishi!" cried Kin iro with a very disappointed voice as her golden skin started to change to a pale yellow. "Oh no, um.... ok, anything so you don't turn pale," said Ishi as she saw her sister's golden light started to fade, as her skin was very pale and grey. "Yay, come on in!" said Kin-iro in a gleeful and cheery way. As Kin-iro entered the grand palace, Ishi stayed outside.
"Why do I never get to do things my way?", thought Ishi. Her black charcoal hair glistened as the blue light of the Miranian sky hit her face. "The Kotara are flying today", said a familiar voice. "Hello Sol", said Ishi. Sol in Spanish means Sun. "Hello Ishi, I saw you up here, so I came up to say hi", said Sol in his very pure voice. "Perfect timing, I needed a bit of company", said Ishi as she looked into his dazzling eyes.
"These are my yolatra feathers, where we made our home there are a lot and look what I can do", said Kin-iro gleefully as she started bending the gold pots into burning hot liquid. "Cool, right?" "Yes, so cool that I will soon have that power", thought Grace as she rubbed her hands together. "Wow how do you do that?", asked Grace. "From these necklaces from our parents when they died in the war.", she said as her skin started to fade a little. "But that's the past!" "What's your name?" "Um, Krakatoa", said Grace hesitantly. "So you are, an island I believe?" said Kin-iro. "Umm. I don't know what Krakatoa is", thought Grace as they walked farther into the castle.
"Ok, so Luna went out and touched a spine-leaf and now she is pink!", said Ishi in surprise. "Yup, you should have seen her before she got healed.", said Sol. "You always cheer me up", said Ishi. Ishi grabbed a stone and bent it into ashes and started to play with it. "You don't know how much I have been waiting to see that", said Sol. Ishi only shows people she trusts her powers unless she is in battle. "Well congratulations Mr. Trusted", said Ishi.
"This belonged to our mother, it is in Ishi's hands now", said Kin-iro as she turned a bit pale. "This girl seems to turn pale when she is in distress", thought Grace. "This seems to be a dead end", said Grace "Isn't there more?" "This is the end of our tour!" said Kin-iro "Um, what are you sketching?" "Oh- um I- it's a -" "Map of mom's castle!" said Kin-iro. "Ishi was right, you are planning something!" exclaimed Kin-iro.
