Chapter 38 of 40 - The bat apocalypse is no funny matter......ok maybe a little

Tessa POV We followed the confused officer inside the building. "We should scour the area, look for any traces of.....of anything", Cassie suggested. A cop handed us a map of the house. The house at two floors, the first floor containing a living room, dining hall, kitchen, main bathroom, and a storage room. The second floor consisted of a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, two bathrooms, an office room, and a document room. "How 'bout some of us scour the first floor, and the rest take the second floor", Ben suggested. In the end we decided that Harry, Josh, Jack, Steph, Julia and Mia would go to the top floor, and the rest of us would take the bottom. Both Fitz and Cassie had separately asked to take the second floor, but everyone told them to stick together. After the others left for the second floor, Cassie turned to us. "So which room do you wanna take?" Cassie asked in a tired voice. "How about me and Ben take the Kitchen and Dining room, Maddie and Connor can take the Living and Bathroom, while you two take storage", I grinned at them. Cassie growled at me, before groaning. "C'mon Sparky, we better start or we'll never find anything", We all watched as the two walked to the door of the storage room. Cassie swung the door open. As the door opened, a small, black fluffy thing came flying out of the room. It was a bat. Cassie shrieked, before gabbing onto the nearest person, who just so happened to be Sparky. Her eyes followed the black creature, and she whimpered every time it came near her. I opened a window to let the poor thing out. "It's just a bat", Fitz said, after Cassie finally let go of his arm, looking very red in the face. "I-I don't like bats", she said. We all just looked at each other. "So, let's...let's umm... start the investigation", Cassie walked into the storage room, dragging a very red Fitz with her. It took me all of my self restraint to not lock the door behind them. Just as they moved out of view, Maddie yelled, "watch out for the bat apocalypse." Cassie stuck her tongue out at her, being the mature girl she is.
