Charlotte Prescott was a young teen, she had recently run away from her abusive mother. She'd heard stories of The Girl of Oak Grove since she was little, her mother forbids the story to be mentioned to her daughter, but the townsfolk thought it necessary for Charlotte Prescott to be told.
It had only been nonstop planning since her birth, they'd help her escape and pursue her destiny. She fit the description of the person who would find The Girl of Oak Grove, and the townsfolk couldn't let her pass. She didn't know why they wanted The Girl of Oak Grove to be found, but she listened. After all, they did become like a family to her.
