Harriet and her dad decide to have a holiday on a cruise ship for two weeks. Everything is great, and Harriet and her dad are loving the sun and meeting different people, but one night, something dreadful happens that makes Harriet want to investigate...
Today is the day that we leave for the cruise! To be honest I am quite excited; I've never been on a cruise before. I've packed all my bags and we're ready to go.
"Dad! Have you got everything?" I shout from the balcony.
"Yeah don't worry now come we have a ship to catch!"
Then we race to the car and drive to the harbour where the ship is waiting for us. Dad booked us 1st class rooms and dining so we get to have the luxury life on board. I think that's mainly because he wants to impress his date, though. Dad has not always managed to woo women, that's why when he gets a date he tries the best he can to get them to like him. He definitely has looks, and he said he's going to get a spray tan at the spa later today, just for that extra look.
The sun looks like it's going to explode because it's so hot. We left Flinn at home because he might fly away and I don't want that.
We get to the car park then walk to the ginormous ship. Then we give our tickets and a man in a white suit leads us to our cabins. We have a sea view which is nice. There's also a pool on the top deck, I can't wait to go in there. It would be more fun with Orla though...
My room is very spacious, with vanity and it's even an en suite. Dads has a double bed, just incase the date goes well! His is also an en suite but his has a bath mine has a shower. I don't mind because showers are more eco-friendly, and I don't like baths.
We are left in our rooms to unpack and I place my favorite book, 'The Year Of The Changing Generation' beside my bed.
"Ahhh. This is the life, isn't it love? The breeze rushing through our hair whilst we drink iced tea." Dad says as we're standing on the deck looking out to sea.
"Yea. I like it. So, when's your date?" I ask as I crunch an ice cube.
"Wednesday. The day after tomorrow."
"Ok. I hope it goes well!".
"Yes you'll have to meet her. She's very nice. Her name's Amara."
I begged dad if we could go in the pool and he eventually said yes! It is so big, the lights are really pretty as well. We did races across the length and I think dad only just won.
Later on, when it gets dark, I'm walking outside our cabins when all of a sudden I see something out of the corner of my eye.
What could it be?
I slowly edge closer to it so's not to scare it away, and I notice that it is in the shape of a person except it is not in the colour of a person. It is slightly transparent, not opaque, but I can't completely see through it. It is a sort of milky white colour. It drifts round the corner. It's back is facing me so I can't see who it is. My heart skips a beat. Unluckily, the breeze strengthens and my hair goes in my mouth which makes me splutter then the creature turns round and it sees me. It shrieks at the top of it's scratchy voice and charges at me swiftly.
I scream.
But no one seems to hear me.
I struggle.
But it doesn't let go.
It forces me to the ground, and my head hits the wooden planks.
