Chapter 5 of 5 - Another night

I had to stay another night. My eyes were peeled, but drowsiness soon took over. The night was pretty weird, and I didn't want to make things worse, so all I did was take a nap. I opened my eyes. Footprints were in the snow. Small, bloody footprints, with one of them being slightly deeper than the other. He must've been limping. The snow was still there, and so was the garage, but everything had changed. I turned to see my once baby kitten now fully grown up, in the blink of an eye. It meowed and then proceeded to leap out of the cabin. "BANG!" It was now shot dead. It's black fur wet with blood. I turned my head to see a limping boy in the distance. He had a gun in his hand, but he was scared to barely take a step. When I walked out, he raised his gun but didn't pull the trigger. "Where are your parents?" I asked. "Run away! They're behind you!" I turned around quickly to see five people huddled together. Their faces were covered in some, thick black goo. They held a book, that somehow didn't get dirty by the muck. They tilted their heads in the same direction and extended their left hand. I turned to look at the young boy, but he was dead. The gun was missing, but so was his head. Slowly I turned back to them, knowing already that the gun was in their hands. I slowly backed away and sprinted to the garage. "BANG BANG BANG!" All the bullets narrowly missed me, but I was still quite far away from it. I wasn't covered by any jackets, and the cold was getting to me. Fatigue swept in, and my pace decreased drastically. Suddenly, the noise stopped. I glanced back, to see that they were all gone. I was safe. I ran into the garage and locked the door. The lights weren't broken anymore, and the entire place was filled with light. A new mascot was present. A mouse with pink fur and a yellow belly. Its nose was black, and I couldn't see where the black mouth ended. Unlike Anthony, Its eyes were just two red dots. I looked to my left, to see Anthony, much more wounded than before, on the ground, crouching. I looked back at the mouse. Its mouth was now filled with teeth. Razor-sharp teeth, filled with black goo. "Run away. The new mascot is cursed. You are the only human still left in this town. Runaway" I turned to him. His head was missing, and in its place was black goo.
