Chapter 1 of 16 - Nickolas

My name is Nickolas. I'm 12 and my life is pretty good. I have a little sister and a older brother. My sister is 5 years old. Her name is Layla and surprisingly is not annoying like other little siblings. She basically worships me. She thinks I'm the coolest thing ever. My older brother, Jack is awesome hes 14 and he is always letting me do stuff with him. When he hangs out with his friends he always lets me come along. Everything he does is cool. My parents are kind and loving. and I also have a dog named Buddy. My best friends name is Maggie shes the same age as me and we have been best buds sense Kindergarten. I thought life was perfect and it was....for me at least. "Nick!" Maggie yelled "I'm coming hold on!" I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs. It was summer break so Me and Mag had all summer to goof around and do what ever we wanted. "Nick c'mon!" "I'm coming Maggie!" We were going over to her house to hangout. We had nothing specific planed we were just going to hang. I had only been to her house a few times. We mostly hung out at my house. Maggie never really liked the idea of hanging at her place. It was strange "K I'm ready" "c'mon" "Here Nick because you didn't eat breakfast I packed it in your bag" Mom said "thanks Mom" We both walked to the front door. "Um Nick I was thinking maybe we could go to swimming instead of going to my house?" "Why?" "Uh I just thought maybe swimming would be more fun" "hmm we can go swimming later" "Oh okay" I opened the door. Layla ran and hugged my leg. "Bye bye" I smiled "Bye Layla" We both exited my house and closed the door. We walked to Maggie's house. I looked at Maggie she looked sad and nervous. "Look Mag I always pack my swim suit so we can go swim later" "Okay" She still didn't seem happy. I turned and looked at the sidewalk. Maybe she just really wants to swim that bad well she doesn't have to worry we have all summer to swim.
