Chris is a teenager who has abused a girl named Ashley. She is about his age. One day, Chris comes home from work in a mall and is hit by a car. He becomes a ghost, but knows his body is still alive. Being invisible, he decides to follow Ashley. She sees how she lives every day, but her stressful life quickly becomes too overwhelming.
I never sleep. Phantoms don't sleep. I visited the hospital to see myself. I was covered in a cast. There were scars on my legs and arms. The doctor would murmur to himself and question how I was even alive, even though I was unconscious. At the hospital, I met the man that had been driving the car. What surprised me was when he turned to me and spoke.
"I made a terrible decision when I was your age, boy." He said with his white hair blowing from the air vent on the ceiling of the hospital room.
"I- uh- you can-see me?" I stuttered.
"Only I." He said as his frail hands motioned for the door. We walked the halls of the hospital as he spoke.
"About forty...no...fifty years ago, I was hurting someone very badly. Then got this chance, the same chance I gave you, boy. I was able to follow her and see her life." I stood in awe for a moment then realized,
"Isn't that some really haunted form of stalking?" I questioned. The man laughed a deep laugh that seemed to be held in for so long.
"You could say that, but I know you would benefit from watching her."
"Watching who?" I asked. Then my mind wandered to Ashley.
"Oh%u2026" And I understood.
