Chapter 12 of 13 - Admitting Everything...

The crowd murmured as the twins walked up to the stage with nervous smiles on their faces. Goldy and Silver glanced at Star and Allister in the crowd, who nodded as if to say, "You got this, guys...". Goldy cleared her throat. "Ummm... h-hi, everybody..." she stammered. As if on cue, the crowd erupted with hollering, questions, and more until Silver shouted into the mic, "EVERYONE SHUT UP, AND WE'LL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS!!!" The noise gradually got quieter as Silver took a deep breath. "Sorry about that. So, you guys are probably wondering why we ran away. Well..." he started. Then, the twins confessed everything: The twins hated how people were being pitted against each other just because they felt like they couldn't choose just one sibling. No one seemed to understand how the twins were different people, but that didn't mean there was a rivalry. As Goldy and Silver finished up their speech, the crowd was left speechless. "... what makes you think we won't go back to how things were before you left?" a boy in front asked. Goldy smiled. "That's the next part of our plan; Look at yourselves. People from both teams have been dating, getting back together, and making new friendships. Weren't you on my brother's team?" The boy nodded. "Alright, and I believe the girl that you took to prom here was part of my team. Correct?" Goldy pointed to the minuscule girl who was holding his hand. Both students turned a rosy shade of red. "Was anyone else involved?" the girl asked. Silver nodded and said, "If anyone was helping us out with the plan, please come up here." Layla and Ivory took a step forward, as well as Star and Allister. Everyone looked shocked. The next questions were a bit more light-hearted: people asking where the twins went, how they felt about all the changes in the school environment, and more. Finally, the DJ whispered something to Layla, who passed it on to Goldy. "Well, ladies and gents," she said in a funny accent. "A very reliable source has just told me that we need to stop thinking about all this serious nonsense and GET THIS PARTY BACK ON TRACK!!!" she yelled. From then on, prom was nothing but fun. Most of the students apologized for treating the twins like some sort of idols, but they were quickly forgiven. Everyone danced, ate, laughed, and more as the party heated up. Finally, the DJ announced slow dances. Of course, for the first dance, Silver danced elegantly with shy and clumsy Ivory, and Goldy found happiness in Layla leaning on her as they spun slowly across the dance floor. During the second dance, however, everyone asked (read: made) the twins dance with each other! Halfway through, Goldy looked up at her brother and whispered, "Can you believe we actually pulled it off?" "It's still unbelievable..." Silver whispered back. "... but I'm so glad we were able to do it." He looked straight into his sister's glittering eyes. "I love you, sis." "Love you too, big bro."
