"Hey!" I yelled at Sonya. "Ahh!"
We were playing tag with all my friends who had died. I was running toward the forest. The rest of my friends were also running into the forest. We all split up on accident. I kept running with my friends behind me, but when I turned around, they were gone. I was alone. "S-Sonya? A-A-Anyone?" I stuttered. I was scared. I kept walking forwards. Suddenly, I came upon a stone. I touched it, feeling how smooth it was. I heard rustling behind me. "W-Who are you?..." The person and I both said at the same time. The person was hiding behind a tree. He was a boy. He had his hair in a little ponytail, and he wore a hoodie. He had black hair and kind of pale skin. My blonde hair flew in the wind. "H-Hello..." I said, quietly. "Are you lost too?" I asked. He shook his head. "This is where I live. I was let free from my test tube..." I was a bit confused. "What do you mean?" I asked. He paused, I can guess that he was thinking about how he was going to respond. "Well...I was once human, when some scientists used me as a test subject...And the experiment went well. Unlike some others. And so, I turned into this. I don't know what I am anymore, but definitely not all human. There is SOME human in me though." I was amazed. Not really scared anymore. "What's your name?," I asked. "My name is Sarah." He came out from behind the tree to take a better look at me. "My name is Axel." He replied. I looked up at the trees. I began to climb one of them. "Can you climb trees too?" I asked him, midway up the tree. "Yeah, I know how to. Let me join you up there." He climbed really fast up the tree. More faster than me. When we both got up, we looked up into the sky. It was a nice, soft, blue. "This is really nice..." I whispered.
"SARAH!" Someone yelled a few minutes later. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" It sounded like Jerome. "Well, it looks like I have to go..." I muttered to Axel. "See you tomorrow? At the same time?" I asked. "Of course!" Axel exclaimed. "Well, see you tomorrow! Bye!" I climbed back down from the tree. There, after a walked a bit, I found Jerome again. "We found everyone else, and I volunteered to find you." We both walked back. Ever since that day, I have visited Axel at the same place, same time. Until one day, the last week of school. "Hey Axel! Last day of school for me!"
Axel didn't need to go to school. He had plenty of books in his little tree home he had built, and he had self-taught himself. We talked for a bit. But suddenly we heard rustling in the bushes. "What was that?" I asked. Suddenly, something came out. It wasn't human. It was most likely a failed experiment on a human. "W-Who are you? What do you want from us?!" I asked. He didn't talk. Suddenly, he ran over to Axel. "We need you." He said in a static voice. They both disappeared. The last words I heard from Axel was, "RUN!" And so I did. I ran back home. I cried. I thought he was dead. Gone forever. What did that thing need Axel for anyways? I wiped my tears. I still remember him to this day.
