Chapter 14 of 22 - The story pieces

I kept walking, tempted to look behind me. But another half of my brain told me not to. So I kept walking, cautious of my surroundings still. Then, I heard a branch behind me snap. I finally looked behind me. Behind me, were 3 of my friends I haven't saw in what felt like forever. Cassie, Cherry, and Jerome. They were alive. But Cherry had blood on her face like she had been attacked. She probably WAS attacked. "Sarah...Is that you?!" Jerome asked, surprised. "I thought you were dead..." I looked at them for a moment. "Let's look for shelter before night falls..." I said to them. We began searching. I don't know what we would find in a cemetery, but I found a pathway that lead to the forest. I called my friends over. "Look! Should we follow the path? We may find shelter there..." Everyone looked at each other and nodded. We began to follow the path. Trees were towering over the dirt path, which shaded us. After a few minutes of walking, we found a piece of paper taped to a tree. "Hey...what does this say?" Cassie asked. "The Friend?...This seems like a page from a story. By the looks of it, it seems this is also the first page!..." I looked at it and read what it said. "One day, there was a person named Sal...Salha...Salhagologia?" I questioned. "I think it's pronounced Sal-hag-olo-gia..." Cherry muttered. "Ok, let me resume. One day, there was a girl named Salhagologia, who had walked upon a shrine. Salhagologia had never seen a shrine before so she didn't know what it was. The shrine had belonged to a person who had died centuries ago. They were a monster looking out for revenge now. The people put the person's body in a shrine to worship them, so the people didn't get killed by that person who died. The person who died was murdered. The murderer put a knife to their chest and stabbed them. Salhagologia had no way of knowing that the shrine, if you walk upon it without a sacrifice of some sort..." I stopped reading. "Why did you stop?" Jerome asked. "Don't you guys see? It's the end of the page! Are you blind or something?!" I replied to him. "I was picking up branches to make a weapon, so I wasn't watching the page..." He said back. "Is there writing on the back of the page?" I ripped the page off the tree log and flipped it over. "Nope..." I said. "Let's continue walking. Maybe we'll find more pages of the story along the way." I kept the first page. After walking for a few minutes again, we found the second page of the story. "Oh look!" I exclaimed. "Another piece! Let's read it..." I paused and began to read. "Salhagologia had no way of knowing that the shrine if you walk upon it without a sacrifice of some sort, you would be enslaved upon the spirits and become possessed and kill your self. Salhagologia looked behind her. Towering over her was the person that was buried in the shrine. The person was in his ghost spirit form, his beady, small, black eyes staring at her. His skin was black, with a white sort of kimono (%uD83D%uDC58) on him with splats of blood splatted on it. Some of the blood was dried, but some of the other blood was still fresh. He had long nails and pointed ears, and he kept twitching his head like it was glitched or something. Salhagologia looked up at him. She looked at him with wonder in her eyes. "Hello..." he said in a glitched broken voice. "Come, follow me..." Salhagologia looked a bit scared. "My mommy told me not to follow any strangers..." He smiled a menacing smile. "Well your mother isn't alive anymore...Is she? She had a fatal accident...Am I right?" Salhagologia looked more scared now, but she also looked like she was going to cry. "How do you know that...?" She asked. The ghost just answered, "Just follow me..." And Salhagologia reluctantly followed him into the deeper parts of the forest." I stopped reading, as the page also stopped. "Wow!" Cassie exclaimed. "That story is really exciting..." I ripped off the page from the log and looked at the back. No words on the other side again. I kept the second page too. "Well let's begin walking again..." I muttered. We kept walking, until we came across a shrine. I froze in my spot. This reminded me of the shrine Salhagologia came upon. And sadly, if this was the shrine they talked about in the story, we didn't HAVE any sort of sacrifice. Human sacrifice, yes, but we weren't going to do that. We already lost too many people. Suddenly, I felt as if something were towering over us. "Guys..." Cassie stuttered. "Look behind us..." We all turned around, and behind us... Was the ghost person himself.
