“Grammama, do you ever miss Candlewick?”
Mira goes silent. 20 years ago Candlewick was forced to move on to the heavens. The afterlife. Mira had been devastated and missed her more than she ever had missed anyone.
“Yes dear, I do.”
“Why must she have left? Couldn't she stay?”
“No, child, she couldn't have.”
“I'm sorry Grammama, it's probably hurts.”
“It's okay child. You didn't know.”
Everyone goes silent.
“I'm leaving soon, child.”
“What?! But where?!”
“I'm leaving forever. Use your powers in your defense.”
And Mira leaves. She sits there and leaves.
