Maddie Boone is a 15-year-old reporter for the local newspaper. Her dream is to write for a big newspaper or magazine, everyone will know Maddie's name. When a tornado hits Maddie's town, tragic things start to happen, and her life is starting to fall apart. Can Maddie act fast and do what she needs to do, or will her life crumble and eventually shatter?
"I don't think so," Maddie responded.
Maddie kept looking at the people walking in the wind, their belongings being blown all over the place.
"M-maybe that's warning for a, um, tornado?" Abbie said unsure.
"I doubt it," Maddie said.
"Sir?" Abbie asked the restaurant owner.
"Yes?" He responded.
"Do you know what's happening with the weather?" Abbie asked quietly.
"Abbie!" Maddie whisper yelled and tugged on her shirt.
"What?" Abbie whispered back.
"Why are you asking a stranger?"
"Because, I wanna know what's happening. Why not?"
Maddie mumbled something under her breath.
"I think that tornado's coming," the man said, "The sky normally turns a greenish color when a tornado comes. And it becomes very windy too. The clouds are moving fast. All signs. I was just about to close up so I can get to my family. I suggest you girls do the same."
"Really?" Maddie said, "People are overreacting. It's just a weird weather day."
The man handed the girls their food.
"We're closed," he said sternly.
The girls and him both walked out. It was so hard to walk and talk, so the girls silently struggled to get home. Suddenly, the wind died down. The two girls ran to a park sit catch their breath and sit down.
"Glad that's over," Abbie said.
"I knew it was nothing to worry about!" Maddie said.
Then a ginormous roar broke threw.
"What the heck is that!!" Maddie yelled.
Abbie couldn't hear her though. The noise was almost similar to a frieght train. The girls heard screams that only sounded a few minutes away.
"What happened?" Maddie asked, extremely worried.
"I-I don't know," Abbie answered.
"We have to go check on them!" Maddie screamed.
"Are you crazy what if that's-"
Abbie was drowned out by a loud sound. The girls turned around and saw grey clouds leading up to a ginormous grey funnel in the sky.
