Chapter 1 of 1 - Awake

8/28/2020 I opened my eyes, then looked at the clock. 2:07, it said. I suddenly felt strange. Like... like I didn't belong. But I had always belonged, what was wrong with me, i wondered. I had cool friends at Blue Sky Middle School, and many boys liked me. I was as normal as you could get. So why, why, why, was i feeling like this suddenly? And what had woken me up? Suddenly, i felt the wind bollowing. I sat up, but the window was closed. The uneasy feeling got stronger, and my heart started beating faster. "Della'' I said to myself "Control yourself". I tried going back to sleep, but my body didn't consider it as an option, so i got up. I walked to my bathroom, where my cat Wilson was sleeping. I turned in the light, but he remained undisturbed. Then looked at myself in the mirror. But something felt wrong again. A second later, i saw it. My hair was white instead of the light blond it had been before, and the deep blue eyes i had inherited from my mother where now a sad shade of grey. Without another instant passing, I screamed. My dad rushed in the room, screaming as well. "IS EVERYTHING OKAY!" he yelled, worried sick. No, just a dream dad, i said, turning off the light. I had decided not to tell him, he had enough to worry about. I would go to the eye doctor the next dday, i thought. Paniking inside, but completely under control, i walked back to bed. "Was it about your mother again?" "Yes dad" I lied. "You know sweetheart, you need to stop worrying so much about her. I know her last words were a bit... disturbing, but the woman was half crazy. I loved her very much, but it has been almost five years now since, well, the incident." "I know dad." I said in a sad tone. That's right, my life wasn't as happy as I had said before. My mother had gotten in a car accident that damaged her brain and eventually killed her. Her last words to me had been ''Follow and accept your destiny, for it is what it is. Death will come for me, as it will-" And then her soul went to heaven, leaving me to wonder what she had meant, and she had been the reason for countless sleepless nights and nightmares about her, next to a dark figure in a long black dress and a hood. I had told my father, but he thought it was my imagination only, while I knew somewhere deep inside of me that they were real. Yes, by now, you probably think I am crazy, and that is what's bringing me to this moment, 4:39 AM, writing these words in my brand new diary. I don't think I will sleep tonight, I would rather stay up and figure out if I am color blind or if my hair is really white and my eyes grey. ***Hey this isn't part of the story but just so you know, when I make a new paragraph with 3 stars it means the next stuff isn't part of the diary (yet). Just wanted to let you know so that it makes more sense*** *** It was 5:34 when the dark shape came in. Della screamed, sitting up in her bed. The hooded figure came and clamped a cold, windy hand over her mouth, and the poor girl fainted of fear. The thing chuckled, and took her away, to a place no know had never returned from alive... Where was she? No one knew. To be continued
