Chapter 1 of 2 - Prologue

"Get back here!" one of the guards yelled. Chasing 3 children, he turned a corner behind them. The children were inmates 513, 810, and 204. Inmate 513 was named Alyssa Jay. She had long black hair with bangs in the front. Her eyes were dark almost black. She had the ability of telekinesis and was 15 years old. Using her power, she lifted one of the tiles on the floor and threw it at one of the guards chasing them. The one in the front dodged it and stayed on the children's tail. The tile ended up hitting another guard, throwing them back. 'He was useless anyway,' the guard, whose name was James, thought. The children leaped over a table and made a sharp right turn. Inmate 810's name was Alex Mandario. With dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, he had the ability to control light. He had a mark on his right wrist which proved this. The mark was a star with a line cutting through it horizontally. Alex made a ball of light and lunged it at the guards, blinding them for a few seconds. He was 15 as well and continued to run, picking up his pace. The last inmate was 204, who's name was Genevieve Ramero. Being the youngest of them all at age 13, she had the ability to control the elements. She had long curly brown hair a little beyond her shoulders. She rooted up a barrier made out of roots from underground, temporarily blocking the guards. This gave the children just enough time to run towards the exit. "Alyssa, the exit!" Alex yelled out to her. Alyssa moved forward to the front and stretched out her arms, making a pushing motion to the door. The door flew outwards and knocked out the door who was about to come inside. The three children sprinted outside into the dark night sky. They were finally free from the facility. The facility was for children with special abilities. Their parents gave them up, thinking that the facility's staff would help their children. Their parents were wrong, so very wrong. As they ran, they turned to the woods. That way, they'd at least have some sort of cover. It especially helped that it was nighttime. Finally, through Liah's root barrier, the guards rushed towards the exit, but they were too late. "You let them leave?" a lady's voice behind them asked. The chief commander turned around. "No ma'am, they escaped," he informed her. 'Idiot,' James thought. He was smart enough to know not to talk back to The Lady. The Lady walked up to the chief and with one swift move, snapped his neck. The chief's limp body fell to the floor. "You should've just said yes," The Lady said to the dead body. She walked to the open exit where the door once stood. "Do you know who they are? Or better yet what they were?" she asked the remaining guards. None of them dared to answer her. "I'll do anything to have them back. Money won't be an option," she said to them. Before she walked back to her office, she said, "They were... the Special Ones."
