Chapter 2 of 2 - Murderers

Chief Smith of the police force sighed. "Another dead. Well, we need to search the body for clues." Eddie and Grace started to pull out tools of all sorts, and a woman entered the old metal room where all the bodies where kept. "Hello, Chief Smith!" A lady stepped through the creaking wooden door. She held a flower basket with many bright, colorful flowers. Her hair was tied up in a tight bun, and her eyes were a soft, odd shade of purple. "I heard that you were looking for the murderer." Chief Smith's face tightened. "Yes, Mariella. We need to stop the killer." He spoke gruffly. Mariella reached out into her flower basket and pulled out a blood stained dagger. It was twisted, and the handle had precious jewels on the gold leather. "Someone dropped this into by basket just the other day," She explained. "He had sideburns, and he looked mysterious." The chief nodded his head, and two police people marched into the room, gripping a man holding a box full of treats. "Would you like some Yorkshire Pudding, sir?" The man offered, and Smith snatched it up, wolfing it down. "This is our top suspect, Steven." Chief Smith told Mariella between mouthfuls of pudding. "Take him away, boys! We've seen enough here." As the two guards started to walk out the door, a frantic-looking woman burst through the doorway. Her auburn that used to be in a high ponytail was messed up, and her eyes were full of fear. "I came to tell Chief Smith a message," She wheezed, putting her hands on her knees while gasping for air. "Go on," Smith snapped at the woman. The messenger woman lifted her head, and a new terrified expression rolled across her face, revealing to be fresh fear. "The mayor . . . is dead."
