Chapter 13 of 14 - Familar Places

"Eclipse! OMG! You're alive! You're alive!" Came a happy scream. I spun around. My face lit up "Splint! Ross! Good to see you!" I said as they tagged along. "You use to live near us, what happened?" I asked. "Oh, we were just exploring." Ross replied. "Tell us every thing!!" Splint said. So I did. "Y-you mean that's the Great Gray Bear?!" Splint stammered. "I'm afraid I'm not as great as I sound." Grayson said, and he told them about how he became famous. "Wow, I thought you were born super powerful and super famous." Ross said. "No, no, that's not true." Grayson said. "So it's a myth that you have superpowers?" Splint asked. Grayson laughed. "I have no idea where you learned I had superpowers, but I don't." Grayson said shaking his head. "A friend of ours named Meri says that you're so powerful that you have superpowers." Ross said. Grayson laughed. "Tell your friend I think she's very imaginative." Grayson said smiling. We all laughed. "Meri misses you. She said you must be dead." Splint said to me. "But I'm not dead." I said. " I know, but Meri wouldn't believe that you were alive. She said that she needed proof to believe. Shanki said that Meri would believe us soon." Ross told me. Shanki was Meri's older sister. Meri hated to believe that she was wrong, but most of the time, she was. "So we're going to go to Meri and Shanki's home to give Meri proof that I'm alive?" I asked "Yes, where else did you think you'd go?" "To mummy." "Can your mum wait?" "I don't think so. Can Meri and Shanki wait?" "No, probably not." "Why?" Ross sighed. I knew I had won, but we sere still over 20 miles from home and Meri and Shanki's home was 30 miles away from here. "Let's run." Daddy said. And we did. Soon familiar smells gushed through my nostrils.
