Michael led everyone down the back alley towards the police station. They were all dressed as circus attractions, with Michael as the ring leader. If anyone asked what they were doing, they would say they were a traveling circus headed back to their caravan in the next down over.
"How much longer until we get there?" Louise complained.
"Just a few more blocks, sweetie," Joann answered.
"Please stay quiet," Michael reminded them. "I know there's no one else around right now, but it's better to be safe than sorry."
Fifteen minutes later, they reached the Hazelwood Police Station. Michael led them in through a secret door in the basement and told them they could take their disguises off before they went upstairs, where an elderly officer met them.
"This is Officer Hays," Michael explained. "He's on our side."
Officer Hays held his hand out to Martha, Peggy and Bridget. It's my understanding that you girls were separated from your father."
"And we were kidnapped by an evil witch lady who pretended to be our mother!" Peggy exclaimed.
"Of course," Officer Hays replied. "We will handle that later on, but right now I think getting you back with your dad is most important."
"Did he come here?" Martha asked.
Officer Hays nodded. "Yes. We asked him a few questions, got him a room at the Inn and told him we would do our best to find you girls And your mother, Elizabeth. The REAL Elizabeth."
"I wonder if he's still there!" Bridget shouted. "We need to go and find him!"
