Chapter 2 of 3 - The Yellow Bucky

The Yellow Bucky I wait in my dark cage for what feels like hours, I can hear Samantha talking to my soon-to-be-owners, but I can't make out anything they are saying. Suddenly the door opens and the Millers and the head Doctor, Beatrix, come inside. Beatrix is young, but an experienced vet. Today she has a little cherry blossom in her hair which she is fiddling with, as she wears an awkward smile. She got it today. I know that because, during my weekly check-up, I saw Sargon Philips plucking it out of the cherry tree and gently putting it in her hair. She seems to have other things on her mind as she talks to the Millers, "I am sure proud of your son's decision, she is a very cute Cymric, she has been here for a few weeks, so I must say we will miss her%u2026 and as for her health," she says still fiddling with the flower as she looks into the distance, "She is the healthiest kitten out of all of the kittens here," she says now looking at the Millers again. "Well, I will get her out of her cage. We have new ones for sale over at the front desk," Beatrix says as she walks up to me and picks me up. We head to the front desk, James purchases the cage. Now I have to be put in the cage, so that means goodbye, I lick Beatrix who smiles and laughs a little. "Well Thank you so much I hope you take good care of her," she says sadly. "We will," the Millers Reply trying to avoid another awkward conversation. Suddenly when the door closes I realize that I am outside of the orphanage. I look around and the whole family is walking toward a big yellow car. "Mum, if it's ok with you cou-," "Yes Dear, you can carry Lilac in the car, but just to give her some air," Martha Finishes for him. They put Liam's Wheelchair in the back of the bucky and They all Jump in, Liam sits in the back with me. Martha opens the back windows of the bucky "Hold on tight to Lilac," she says with a worried look, The engine starts and suddenly we start to move, it's incredible. I have only seen cars, I have never been in one. I must say it is quite the experience. And at that very moment, I feel very content and safe in Liam's warm lap covered in my yellow blanket, I finally feel like I am safe and loved, ever since my mum's death I did not have anyone that I could trust, Now not only do I have Liam but his parents as well. Right now there is no other place I would rather be than in Liam's warm Lap. I look around, and we pass by lots of big houses, "Wow they must be wealthy," I think to myself as we drive along. Suddenly we stop and back up into what seems to be their driveway. I look at their house. It is so tiny compared to all the magnificent houses with front yard swimming pools. "Well here we are," James says hopping out of the bucky. Though their house is small compared to where I used to live, it is so much more beautiful. It is a brick house, with white shutters and light blue curtains, Long vines grew on the house, which sprouted out lots of tiny yellow and white flowers. There is a small hibiscus flower bush at the front, which has blossoming bunches of yellow flowers. There is a pathway leading to the door, that we followed when we had all come out of the car, we followed the path to the door, instead of pulling out a key and opening the door themselves they knock very hard on the big wooden door. Suddenly an old lady with white hair opens the door, her eye widens as she sees me cuddling Liam. "Gosh Martha, you have done it again," she said laughing, as she looks at me. "Well don't just stand there come in."
