Long ago, in a valley, by a river, sitting in a wooden chair, in a cabin, sat Sally Pumpkin. She was short, with green eyes and black hair. She was beautiful, as most women were in Emerald Valley. Emerald Valley was named after the event in 1763 when three young boys found sixty emeralds along the riverbank. They were small, but the mayor was extremely excited. Then he touched an emerald and became a silver toad, not a statue, but a small living toad made of pure silver. He figured out he had the power to bring curses to whoever was being naughty or greedy. No one has seen him since he moved into a cave full of sapphires in 1774. This particular cave was 70 miles long, not counting the 24 tunnels along the way. Those 24 tunnels were connected by more tunnels, so it would be very hard to find him except when he comes out to give the needed curses around town. Many years passed, and Sally was born as a pretty baby girl. Her parents died 6 years after she was born, and so she lived in an orphanage. Until 1793, she lived there. She now lived in her cabin, living the nessacary things she needed.
