Chapter 8 of 14 - The Meeting

I woke up with a jerk. I was still in my room, just as I was last night. Was that a dream? Was Abel here... I quickly got up and ran over to my closet. I put on a small, blue dress with a white-collar and my white gloves. I grabbed my black Oxfords and slipped them on in a split second. And now for my hair... Always so difficult, but beautiful. A simple brush will do. I did so and ran downstairs. Dad was up, so I would have to tell him what I'm up to. "Why you look absolutely darlin'," Dad commented, holding my hand proudly. "Thank you," I said politely. "So what are you up t-" "I'm going out with Abel!" "Wait... Abel? You didn't tell me you two were dating!" "NO! He's taking me to meet his crew," I replied, "I mean, friends, I guess." "Abel is in town! That's wonderful! I hope you have fun! Tell him I said hi!" Dad chuckled, patting my arm. "I will, Dad. You see, I don't know when he'll be coming or-" My room! He'll be meeting me by the window in my room! "You know what, I forgot something upstairs! Cya when I get home!" I quickly kissed him on the cheek and ran up to my room, shutting the door behind me. I fixed up my hair that I messed up and sat in my bed until he came. Wait. When will he come? What if it's later today; at night! And about that car chase... What if Abel was involved? Maybe I will just have to see. That Benicio character better not be with him. What will I do then? I heard a slam on the window and saw that Abel was on the other side. I opened the window and let him in to rest for a second. "So, did ya sleep well last night, (Y/N)?" he said, running his hands through his hair. "I slept just fine! You?" "Swell! Are you ready to go?" "Ready as I'll ever be," I replied. . .. ... .. . Abel took you by the waist and flew out of the window. This time, you were heading toward the floor. "I thought that maybe we could take my car," he said, letting you back onto the ground. "How very considerate of you," you replied. You two strolled down the sidewalk until you reached the car. It was black, like most others, but this one seemed familiar to you. Abel opened the passenger seat door and escorted you inside. The door shut and Abel slid across the hood onto the other side of the car. He got in and started it up. "Show off," you snorted, crossing your arms. "Ey, can you do any better?" he replied, smirking to the point where you knew it was a competition. "Nah. I knew you were still a child," you smirked back. Abel sat there, trying to find something to say. "Fine, ya win, Angel Cake, but I'll getcha next time," he laughed. He pressed the gas and you were on your way to meeting Abels 'friends'. The road was a little bumpy, but what did you expect. Abel started to drive off-road. "Woah! Where are we going!" you retorted, looking back at the road you were on. "You wanna meet 'em don't ya? he replied. I sat back and watched as we drove around trees and rocks, occasionally bumping a few of them. Abel parked behind a patch of bramble that surrounded an old boxcar. You both got out of the car and started to walk towards the bramble. Abel spread the bush apart with his wing to let you through. You slowly walked in, Abel close behind you. "It's our hideout. I know it looks a little weird, but it's the best we got," he whispered, cautiously opening the sliding door to the boxcar. The room was dim, considering there was little light. Abel closed the door behind him. Now the room was pitch black. It was cold but humid and full of dust. You couldn't help but cough a little. "So this is your hideout? It's a little small," you said, wrapping your arms around you. Abel lit a match and started looking for something. Suddenly, he bent down a pulled open a trap door on the floor of the boxcar. "Oh..." Abel held the match in his mouth and jumped down into the black pit. All you could see was the outline of Abel's face from the matches light. "You can climb the ladder and jump down. I'll catch ya!" he said, his voice muffled by the match. You looked down and started to climb down the ladder. The gap between the ladder and the floor was pretty big, but you took your chances and jumped anyway. Abel caught you and set you down beside him. The tunnel was big a dusty. Your footsteps echoed through it, making it seem a little eery. Then, Abel looked down and lifted his shoe. "Ink?" he whispered. The ink trailed in a huge squiggly puddle down the tunnel. You looked down and saw that you were stepping in it as well. Abel held the match in his hand and ran down the tunnel. "C'mon, (Y/N)!" he yelled, looking behind him. You started to run even though you were scared out of your mind. Spilled ink can only mean one thing... spilled blood. . .. ... .. . I couldn't believe it, is this how our meeting is going to start? I was still running after Abel until he stopped at a door. He quickly opened it and quietly walked in. I walked in as well, closing the door behind me. "Abel, what's going on?" I shuttered, trying to stay calm. "I don't know. Stay here and I'll go find out," he replied. He bolted into the right hallway and disappeared behind the wall. I was left alone. So, their hideout is an old, abandoned studio, huh? I looked around the room and saw a projector next to a small chair. The projector was broken and the chair was covered in ink. I saw a medkit on the floor next to the chair, so something bad had to have happened here. Why couldn't this have been a pleasant meet? I heard talking in the hallway al hurried back to where I was before. The voices were faint, but I could still hear them. "So you're sayin' Boris went out without anyone knowin'?" it was Abel. I quickly bounded over to the wall to listen to the conversation. "I didn't say that, angel. I said that he told Axel he was going out for fresh air and came back with a few scars." "Who could have done it?" "I think it was Ms. Alice. She's the only one who would wound his heart. Axel got upset, but I already took care of it." "Where is he? Where's Boris? "He's sleeping..." That voice... It sounds so familiar! It couldn't be. I heard them coming down the hallway, so I quickly ran back to the spot I was in. "Anyway, I brought (Y/N)," Abel said, still in the hall with his friend. "So she agreed to come?" said the voice. Abel came out behind the wall with his friend. It was him! It was Benicio! I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest. I couldn't tell if my face was red with anger or disbelief. Benicio looked at me for a quick second then back at Abel. " I couldn't believe it. Abel was the one in the car. How could this be? . .. ... .. . You heard someone running down the hallway. A strange Angel with one black and one white wing came from behind the wall. He had two different eyes, as well. On his left eye, he had an 'x'. And on his right, it was just like a cartoon. You couldn't believe my eyes. "Abel!" he yelled, almost tripping over his own feet. He stopped at the sight of you. "Why who is this pretty young lady?" he said, trying to be just a little charming. It didn't work very well. Abel sighed and lifted his right arm, "This is (Y/N), ya know, the girl I was talking to you about? She is here to meet you all! Hopefully, here to join us as well." Abel said, crossing his arms. He looked over at you, signaling you to say something. I hesitated and looked at Axel and Benicio. "Um, well! Y-yes, my n-name is (Y/N)..." you said, trying to be as calm as possible. You looked over at Abel, telling him you were done. Abel chuckled and put his hand on my shoulder. "She's a little nervous," Abel said, trying to change the subject. I couldn't help it... I had to let it out. "I can't!" you yelled, removing Abel's hand from your shoulder, "I know who you are and what you did!" You looked at all of them. "I'm pretty sure you all know that I was there. I'm not sure why you were shooting at cops, but I know it wasn't for a good reason. You can do whatever you want to me to keep me quiet, I don't care. What you did was unforgivable," you said, taking a breath, "And Abel... I was hoping that you had nothing to do with this, but I guess I was wrong." Everyone looked at you. Axel looked like he was just shot in the back. Benicio uncrossed his hands and stared down at you. Abel's hand was half lifted. You could tell that he was too surprised for words. There was silence for a second until Benicio broke it. "Just tell her the truth, Abel," he said, breaking his eyes off you. "Fine..." Abel replied, "Come sit down. We have a lot to discuss."
