A group of friends go on a summer retreat to a beach. One day, they wake up to see something they will never be able to forget, something that will change them forever. And the trouble has just begun.
Falla woke up, realizing that today was the day. She glanced at her clock and immediately shot out of bed.
Falla quickly ran down the stairs from her apartment. She dropped her suitcase once, she may have "slightly" overpacked for the trip with her friends to a nice warm beach. They decided to do this to celebrate the beginning of summer. They had now graduated from college and were ready to move on in life, after a brief visit to a small island in the Bahamas. It was a very small island with only 3 actual houses on it. Since Falla, 3 other girls, and 5 boys were going, they had all pitched in and rented out all 3 of the houses, one for boys, one for girls, and one for both. It would be a relaxing 3 weeks, sitting in the sand all day, sitting by a fire all night.
Falla checked at her phone and saw a text from her boyfriend, Anpu.
"I am waiting outside, come on already."
She glanced at the time and saw that she was 5 minutes late already, great. She ran down the stairs as fast as she could trying not to trip on her way down. She took one last look at her apartment before running outside and pulling on Anpu's car door. It was locked, so she knocked on the window, Anpu turned his head to her and gave her a smile.
Falla loved Anpu so much, she loved the way he could help lighten up any situation, just by flashing her a smile and showing off his beautiful blue eyes. Anpu unlocked the door and Falla pulled the passenger seat door open and sat down.
"Took you long enough." Anpu says starting the car back up again.
"How about, "Hey babe! You look great today.'" Falla jokes and kisses his cheek.
"Why thank you, you look, you look nice." Anpu says with a small smile creeping upon his face to show that he is just joking.
"Haha, very funny." Falla says sarcastically.
Anpu turns over to her, "You do look quite nice." he says.
"Eyes on the road buster, don't kill me, I actually want to go on this vacation." Falla says, Anpu immediately turns his head back to the road.
Falla looks ahead and sees her friends, Than, Mort, Darcy, Mallory, Jabez, and a little further away, her favorite couple ever, Valdis and Giltbert, holding hands. They had been together since high school and Falla thought that they were the cutest thing ever, even more than her actual boyfriend. Anpu pulled up the car to the curb and everybody filed in the car.
"WOOHOOOO!!!!!" Than says hopping in.
"Shut up already." Darcy says.
"He's been acting all crazy since I first saw him today." Mallory says.
"But isn't he crazy everyday." Anpu says starting to drive.
"Eyes on the road." Falla says turning his head to the road.
"Sorry." Anpu says.
"True though, he claims to have been there for an hour because he was so excited." Jabez says.
"Speaking of which, what took you guys so long?" Mallory asks as Than is looking out the window very excitedly.
"Someone here overslept." Anpu says.
"Pay attention to the road!" Falla says. Anpu grumbles and does so. Mort and Than start laughing at Falla and Anpu, their own comedy show. "Watch it you two." Falla threatens.
"You wouldn't hurt my beautiful face, now would you?" Mort says grinning.
"I may not, but Mallory and Darcy will." Falla says.
"You bet we would." Darcy says as Mallory laughs.
"You guys are so mature." Valdis says sarcastically. This caused everyone to laugh even more.
They were just in such a good mood for this wonderful vacation. They had been friends throughout college and wanted to keep that friendship going. They really loved each other like family and enjoyed the times that they spent together.
They arrived at the airport shortly afterwards and immediately went in to observe everything. They walked around the airport slowly taking in everything. Everything felt so exciting and new, the way people bustled around like they were in a rush, or people waiting in their seats for their flight.
The group made it to their gate, it was a small gate, because it was just going to be them on the island, it was almost like a private jet, but a small plane fit for their group of nine. Falla looked around and noticed that Mallory was missing.
"Where's Mallory?" Falla asked, his caused everyone to look up at her then around in confusion.
"There." Giltbert said, point to where they had come from, there stood Mallory, and her light curly hair walking towards them.
"Sorry, got lost" Mallory said.
"It's alright." Valdis says.
"Uh, sorry to interrupt, but I need to go." Than says.
"We are gonna go, we just have to wait." Darcy says.
"No, I need to go to the bathroom." Than says. Mort lets out a laugh.
"Down that way." Jabez says pointing back to where they came from. Than smiled slightly then made his way over there.
"I am gonna go too. No point in not." Darcy says before walking off.
The remaining group waited in absolute silence for the forgetful ones to come back. Anpu sat down next to Falla and squeezed her hand.
"What you thinking about?" Anpu asks.
"Trying to figure out if I forgot something." Falla says.
"I doubt you did." he says.
"Me too, just checking." Falla says.
They sit in silence for a moment before Anpu asks, "You excited?"
"Oh yes, not as much as Than, but yes." Falla says.
"Me too." he says before kissing her cheek then standing up and walking back to the others.
Than came back, "Hey." he says.
"Is Darcy with you?" Mort asks.
"Oh, she came with me?" Than says. Mort rolls his eyes.
"We'll wit a bit, you guys are such worrywarts." Mallory says.
"Agreed." Valdis says.
Darcy appears from around the corner and walks over to the group, "Sorry, there was a line."
"Alright then, let's go." Anpu says. And the group heads onto the plane.
