Mochi Ai is the sweetest, cutest, most kawaii person you could ever know. Returning to her stepmom and dad back in USA from the Harajuku district of Japan, she meets the alpha of her new school, a wolf-and-dragon hybrid named Drake. Poetic, huh? As the two get to know each other, however, Drake realizes Mochi has some nasty skeletons in the closet. What is she? Who is she?
The next few weeks were literally unbearable for Mochi. Gavin did anything and everything to turn her life into a living hell. Gossip, hateful messages, blackmail, physical torment... and it got worse every single day. At first, people tried sticking up for Mochi. However, as the weeks passed, everyone either joined in the bullying by spreading rumors or flat-out ignoring her. Pretty soon, the only people even willing to talk to Mochi were Thea, Anais, and of course, Drake. There was no stopping the relentless torture, though. There was one shred of happiness, however: Mochi's mother, Neka, was visiting for a month so she could catch up with Shiro, because they were on friendly terms. Mochi didn't look too much like her mom: Neka was very short, with white and black hair, and small panda ears nestled in them. Her normal, peach skin brought out her red eyes, red demon horns, and wings. Drake was with Mochi when they went to pick up Neka from the airport. As soon as gloomy, timid Mochi saw her mom, her eyes lit up and she ran straight for her. "Mama!!! How are you?" she exclaimed, hugging Neka. Neka smiled and kissed her daughter. "I'm doing good, love. How's the US?" Shiro walked up and shook hands with his ex-wife. "It's good to see you, Neka. I'm glad that you're here," he said kindly. After meeting Drake with a smile, Neka drove home with Mochi's family.
"Aww, is she asleep?" Neka asked, smiling at Mochi, who was lying her head down on Drake's lap, eyes closed tightly. Drake chuckled and nodded, stroking Mochi's hair. "I'm glad she found someone like you, Drake. Her old school community never really liked her much, but I'm glad she's living an area where her school peers don't bully her! I can't even imagine...!" Neka laughed in a relieved tone. Drake froze: Mochi's mom didn't know about the bullying Mochi was going through. He suddenly blurted out, "Actually, that's not entirely true..." and proceeded to tell Neka about everything happening at their school. When he finished, Neka froze and went pale. "H-how bad has it gotten...?" she asked nervously. Drake sighed and looked at little Mochi. "To the point where someone's been placing a white flower on her desk... people are wanting her d-dead..." he answered, fighting back tears. The thought of Mochi killing herself was enough to make him want to kick the chair or pull the trigger on himself... she was his world. Neka's red eyes went wide. "Drake, has she told you about her dark side?" she asked. Drake shook his head. Neka sighed as tears slowly sparkled in her eyes. "When Mochi was young, she told us about dreams and visions that she had: always about a girl just like her, but vengeful. Homicidal. Suicidal. She said that when she was bullied or hurt, the voice would tell her to do horrible things, the worse the incident, the louder and more convincing the voice gets. It's a rare mental personality that only a demon hybrid can have, not even an angel hybrid," she explained. Drake looked shocked as he looked down at Mochi, who was sleeping peacefully. "So you're saying... that you think, if she's pushed too far..." "She'll either kill someone, send someone to the ER, or kill herself..." Neka sighed. A lump of desperate pain filled Drake's throat. "When do people usually learn about it?" "Mid-twenties: the minds of those who aren't hybrids won't be able to understand until then. You know why I'm telling you this, right...?" Neka asked. Drake didn't know what to say. Suddenly, a fire of determination flashed in Neka's eyes. "You're gonna need to start protecting Mochi with your life so she stops getting bullied. By any means necessary." Suddenly, Mochi whimpered, but it wasn't like her: it sounded kind of... demonic. At that moment, a tear swirling with black and red blood dropped from her eye, hitting the patio with a sizzle. Neka looked more terrified than ever. In a shaky, almost incomprehensible voice, she uttered...
"The demon's overtaking her... she can't stand anymore."
