Chapter 1 of 1 - Poems

Oh I can't breathe, Maybe that's normal and I'm not, Maybe there's a monster in my torn heart. Baby, is that why you left? Come home, I promise I'll care for you. I see your tears so beautifully melancholy, But I see you smile, Oh I see you smile, But it's not at me. Has it been a year? What happened to the woman I knew before? She's more broken then the door she slammed in her way out, Those glistening tears running down her cheeks. Broken beauty, Oh such broken beauty Telling myself to forget. Telling myself I should have just held my heart away from you. But I'm torn, Down the middle of a usually whole heart. Can't watch you dancing with him, Can't watch you smile. Cause it's not at me. Oh it's just another sad song, But I'm not singing, I'm writing and my ears are ringing, Echoes of the past, Whispers of your love, The tears are coming and they won't leave. So many tears; I'm sucked dry, Feeling like I should die, But the reaper won't come. He laughs like you do at the other man, And oh baby your smiling, and it shreds me. Where did my calm go? It dies and it dies slow, With the love that burned hotter than we could bear. Free falling, grasping for the hold I'm used to. But baby you've slipped through, Your gone, And your smiling. But not at me. Not at me. And through the hurt, Through the burn, I would not erase a single word. I am not cured, But the memories tell me where I've been. And I will love again.
