Jason Heater isn't your ordinary teenager. He's been expelled from three different schools for very strange and unusual reasons. Messing up the sprinkler system, supposedly sending a classroom up in flames and another time by splintering a door plus shattering a window. No one knows how he did it and neither does he. He discovers and learns that he has strange powers. Jason actually likes it there and feels like he actually belongs. Jason and the other members' camp cross are being trained...but for what reason? The examination room was white except for the chrome lab table and shiny light blue floor tiling.
Zen pointed to the exam table while looking at me, "or now why don't you lay down on the table. Dr.Brooks will come in and have a look at you. I have to go, there are things I need to attend to."
When Zen left I thought about making a run for it but thought better of it when I remembered the several surveillance cameras I'd seen. I hopped onto the table and lay down waiting for whoever Dr.Brooks was.
Not a minute later the door opened and in walked a pretty woman wearing a white lab coat. She set down a clipboard that she'd been holding and slipped on some latex gloves. She turned to face me and spoke, "My name is Dr. Brooks. I am taking over for Dr.Gregg who is currently busy. I'm going to do some basic check ups and procedures-blood pressure,heart rate,breathing and temperature. After that I'm going to have you go over to that MRI machine so I can get some data and pictures of your brain. Shouldn't take too long.
When the check-ups were finished I went over to the MRI machine and lay on a sliding table connected to the machine.
Dr.Brooks pressed a couple of buttons on a computer screen that was connected to the MRI while talking, "I'm going to strap you down and slide your head through the machine but first I have to make sure you don't have anything on that may contain metal."
I checked my pockets and shook my head, "Nope."
When she slid him through the machine and scanned the computer screens. After about 10 minutes she rolled me back out and unstrapped me from the table. She focused back on the screens.
Suddenly she gasped. She looked at me and then back at the brain scans. "Hold on. I'll be right back."
Before I could say anything else, she had already ran out the room.
