The difference between good and bad karma is that good is rewarded to you after you do something selfless or think good thoughts, while bad is given out as a just reward for when you do something mean or selfish. You can also reap the benefits of good and bad karma from your previous lives. Karma is different from luck in that luck is distributed randomly.
